Pasadena, CA--Songs From The Tall Grass has won a National Endowment For The Arts American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius award. A new, major initiative of the NEA, the grant is designed to give audiences "an opportunity to experience a wide range of art forms that represent the best of our American cultural and artistic legacy."

Funded by the NEA through the Minnesota State Arts Board, the grant was awarded to A Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls, MN to support the theater's touring production of Songs From The Tall Grass. Produced by Rebecca Petersen and A Center for the Arts and directed by "Songs" composer and co-writer Randy Hale, the tour will take the show to theaters throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota. This is the second NEA grant awarded to a production of Songs From The Tall Grass. "Songs" was awarded an NEA Challenge America grant, an award that "supports communities in their efforts to cultivate local artistic resources and to provide greater access to the arts for both residents and visitors."
